May 15-17, 2020

Golden Rocks Permaculture Farm is proud to host our fourth annual Cob Sculpting Workshop focused on Women's Empowerment!!  Join us as we celebrate our liberation together and learn how to build our own dwelling, fashioned from Cob, a mix of clay, straw and sand.  This workshop is dedicated to the memory of Emilie

Imagine a world where women are empowered not only to dream their homes into existence, but are actually able to independently create that vision. What kind of artfully-created homes would we sculpt for ourselves?

Instructors Brenda Quintero and Monica Wright will be teaching this course with help from angel Emilie, and the elders/ancestors in this important work.  Our central focus for the weekend will  be EMPOWERING WOMEN  to step into the fertility of their own Spirit, especially in the area of creating "Home" and developing skills  in Natural Building.  Brenda has been teaching cob sculpting for seven years, and tenured assistant teachers will bring many hands and styles to the project.  We will also be joined by special guest teacher Rachel Avilla, who will be leading us in learning about lime plasters and paints.

We will be offering our Cob Sculpting Basics Course in this 3-day intensive workshop.

ABOUT THE COURSE:

During this course we will be completing one room, and outdoor living space in Grandmas Shoe House, a sweet little meditation space and childrens' play area shaped like a shoe!  While we will cover most of the basics for building a sculpted cob structure, our hands-on work will be centered on learning to make and apply lime plasters, in addition to learning about and installing an earthen floor.  We will be playing with lime paints as well, and potentially creating "Fresco" style artwork: permanent paintings on the exterior and interior walls of this beautiful work of art! The weekend will be filled a women's empowerment agenda, including Yoga, Meditation, Dreaming, Ceremony, Music and lots of content on HOW to build a small sculpted cob structure.
