About the event
In this 3-day course Brenda and crew will teach the basics of sculpted cob and exhibit many approaches to raising walls, both straight and curvy. We will lecture on the elements of COB, how to harvest these materials, and everyone will get plenty of hands-on practice mixing cob in a variety of strategies. We will spend half of our workshop time learning about many different recipes for plasters and paints, all made with earthen materials (and even some from the kitchen cabinet!)
All students will have the opportunity to practice, so that your HANDS LEARN, and you will be quite capable of making something with cob by the end of the weekend, even all by yourself!
This workshop is inclusive of daily lunches ~ mostly organic and from our gardens. We will also provide snacks in the mornings and afternoons. Students will have access to our outdoor community kitchen to…

Gorgeous room w/private deck and views! The Art Studio has a studio kitchenette, a cozy queen bed w/bedding, ceiling fan, air conditioning and heating. Spectacular wildlife viewing and star gazing too from a large redwood deck. Private, quiet, restful ambiance. Students enjoy 3 nights for the price of 1! NOTE: The bathroom facilities are a short walk, but their is a handy commode for middle-of-the-night use.

Bed in bunk room (inside farm house) with shared bathroom and kitchen. Good for a couple on the bottom bunk, one person on top bunk, and one person on a separate twin mattress. Bring your sleeping bag and pillow! Ticket is for 3 nights, and can include either Thursday night prior to event, or Sunday night after event closes.
