3-Day Intensive!!

In this super fun, family-friendly 3-day event we will be learning the basic concepts for working with straw bales to create walls, dwellings and outbuildings.
Together we will work with natural materials building and learn the basics for building with straw bales. We will cover everything from types of straw available, how to set bales to structural goals, and how frame them in and will discuss ways to finish cob bale walls.
This is an introductory course! Are you curious about using bales for building with? This is the class for you! Curious minds welcome!
This three-day workshop includes 2 nights of camping under the gorgeous skies here at Golden Rocks Permaculture Farm. Our sweet little camping area has spectacular views of sunrises and moonrises, and some of the darkest skies to be found for great star gazing and YES! We see shooting stars ALL THE TIME! For non-camping types, you may choose to stay in a private or dorm-style indoor room(s) at a deep discount.
Lunch, dinner and snacks will be included. Workshop participants will be responsible for providing their own breakfast, and there will be space available in our outdoor kitchen for preparation and eating.
Cost for the three-day workshop is $400 and up, sliding scale is available for curious minds in need! Overnight stays can be added before or after workshop, as well as "Glamping" sites and farmhouse rooms. OUR WORKSHOP PARTICIPANTS enjoy DEEPLY DISCOUNTED rates on room rentals. Golden Rocks Permaculture Farm is located in Middletown, Lake County, CA. We are deliciously close to Harbin Hot Springs, and amazing hiking trails too!
