About the event
In this 4-day course Brenda and Frankie team up to instruct on how to put an awesome, artsy earthen wall into any space in record time! We'll be covering rubble trenching, how to make a full-sized rock bench using local rocks, as well as how to make an earthen wall / corner unit transitioning wall to rock bench in a seamless L-shaped outdoor structure. We will be utilizing local rocks, local clay soil, sand, straw and salvaged pallets to sculpting our structure with harvestable materials. Lectures and demonstrations on the elements of COB, how to harvest and mix these materials, and everyone will get plenty of hands-on practice mixing cob in a variety of strategies, as well as instruction in application.
All students will have the opportunity to practice, so that your HANDS LEARN, and you will be quite capible of making something with cob by the end of the weekend, even all by yourself!
This workshop is inclusive of daily lunches ~ mostly organic and from our gardens. We will also provide snacks in the mornings and afternoons. Students willl have access to our outdoor community kitchen to get their own breakfast & dinners. Four nights of camping is included in the ticket price (upgradable to room stay if you wish).
