WINTER BLISS

Leaning over to kiss the ground, Manzanita rounds its back In an effort to connect to the rocks at its feet. Glistening raindrops dangle from each silver leaf.

 Christmas is in the air, with stark white buds bursting forth, impossibly entangled on bright red limbs.

My current company, Manzanita, Blue Oak, Leafless Willows.

And Water ~ bringing life to all, gentle streams gurgling past rocks laced with bright green moss, yellow liken, long-fingered grasses. 

And Couds!  Many cloud people, puffed and edgy, dancing along the mountain scape. And Fog!  Thick streams dangle in forests, meandering through creeks and valleys in synchronized rhythm with the cloud tribe.

And Wind!  The breath of life is with me, fierce and powerful.  And fire, the gentle crackling of hearth and home, fueling me, igniting my passion.

I’m so grateful to be alive ~ to witness all of the beauty around me.  To find Christmas within my heart.  The great giver of gifts, and remembrance of connection between time, space, lineage, and friendship. 

Family far off, I look forward to spending quality time with chosen family ~ neighbors and friends, fellow nature lovers who are also basking in beauty, awakening in the presence of winter, stormy and gloriously alive, a standing invitation to bring that beauty inward, and share the joy of winter bliss with those we love.
